Your travel42 itinerary destination platform contains various features and advantages over the traditional tedious copy-paste process of itinerary creation. You will find the travel42 process to be faster and more accommodating to your needs. Additionally, travel42 allows for continued technical support and future enhancements. There are various ways to create a new trip. In this walkthrough, we will focus on a few methods to get you started. |
New Trip Creation from the Main Dashboard: https://new.travel-42.com/Dashboard#/.
You can begin a trip plan by conducting a general search or clicking on the (+) button on the right to begin your new trip itinerary.
Click the plus sign (+) to the right of the trip plans area. This will open a popup screen that allows you to input preliminary trip details and add or create new traveler information. Click next step and place notes if necessary, otherwise, click create new trip on the second page of the popup.
Drag and Drop Images and Establish your initial Itinerary Information
-Name your trip plan (Note: This is the only required field to start your trip plan! You can edit all the trip information including the name at any point!)
-Drag-and-Drop a Cover Photo from your desktop or search through your files.
-Enter past traveler information or add new travelers.
-Set Departure & Return Date or duration of travel.
-Place additional notes on the following page by clicking “NEXT STEP: NOTES”
-Proceeding the notes, click on “CREATE NEW TRIP”
Now, you will be directed to the collect tab/screen. You will know you are in the below screen as “COLLECT” at the top is underlined in yellow:
Notice the left search-drop-downs that allow you to begin populating with various collections. You can either search at the top bar or use the collections section for a more refined/granular search based on type; destination guides, hotels, cruise, see & do, and shoretrips excursions. Additionally, you can also add custom places on the left navigation under “CUSTOM PLACES.”
You can then add the entire item or view details to select specific information from the item selected.

Here you can checkmark/click the specific info you would like to display to the client. Once items are selected, be sure to click on the X at the top of the page to close & save. Note: The selections are saved automatically on clicking the X.
You can now continue to filter your results for hotels, excursions, etc. and select those particular items. Once you have collected all the items for the trip (You can always edit later!) Close out of the screen by clicking on the X (It will save your selections automatically!) and you will again return to the initial collect screen but this time you will have your item selections on the collections left navigation:
You can now proceed to the next tab: ORGANIZE
You can now begin dragging and dropping all of the items you have in your collection to the main calendar section by click+holding and dragging the titles over to a specific day or range of days as the calendar will highlight on the right.
Once in the calendar, you can extend the duration of the item by pulling an edge of the box:
Additionally, you can view by month, week, day, and event list by clicking on the top right buttons of the screen:
This will allow you to set specific event start/end times.
Once the itinerary is organized, you can proceed to the last tab called: PROPOSE.
Here, you will find the proposal cover based from the image you first submitted on your trip creation pop-up.
Review the information and make any edits or adjustments. you can always go back to any of the previous screens. click on the ellipsis icon on the top right of the screen:
New Trip Creation from the Main Search Field: Additionally, you will find more space for searchability to stem from an initial idea, be that a point-of-interest to a particular cruise line, our platform is there to facilitate at any point that an idea forms. Many times, a discovery of a potential itinerary product may start from researching a specific destination, other times it can start by a specific point of interest or popular resort. The travel42 platform makes it easy to start from any point in the process. In the dashboard, you can also edit and create new traveler information.
Below, we have conducted a general search for Cancun. Notice the items listed are categorized by destination, hotels, things to do and cruises. We can also select “View All Results.”
Manage & Edit New Trip Plans and Traveler Information: From the main dashboard (home screen), effortlessly search and edit your itineraries from the main dashboard screen and create new experiences. Additionally, you can search and edit past traveler information and create more traveler information all from one main screen/dashboard, so you have all the pertinent information right at your fingertips in one screen.
Additional News & Travel Alerts Content
Our Intelliguide travel alert information along with news from Travelage West and Travel Weekly, can be easily accessed in a more readable format from the top navigation called, “News & Alerts.” This allows you more space on the dashboard/main page to pull up past trip plans and look at your full traveler list while being able to edit and create new ones all from the main page.
